Compelling stories for curious people
I share stories and compelling information that I cull from the web, or that people send me, or that I write myself. If it makes me smile, wonder, or consider something in a new way, it goes into the Wonder File.

Everything in the Wonder File is a short read, between between two and ten minutes, and has been written or selected to offer the learning experience we humans naturally crave, from the moment we are born until we take our last breath.
"It was hard, and it was also beautiful. I learned more from the bits that were hard, and I was able to cope with what was hard because of the bits that were beautiful."

As a teacher, principal, and director, I've worked at international schools in Germany, France, India, China, Guinea, and in the USA at county jail. I have developed and led educational programs at universities and a medical school in the USA.

Today, I live in Berlin, am a global grandma, a fan of Stephen Sondheim, and a needlepointer. I find exploring by bike and train more fun than traveling by car and plane.
Raised overlooking the beach in California, I went to Zurich as an exchange student at age 17. That was my first opportunity to live among the other and I have sought intercultural encounters ever since.

I've lived and worked, raised a family, bought vegetables, and hired plumbers, consultants, and teachers in countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the USA, and I marvel at the very different ways people live their lives in this world. Marvelous, too, is how we share similar aspirations, no matter how differently the world presents to us.
